Our Story
From Casablanca to Amsterdam.
Abdel El Bouzidi learned the trade in Morocco and spent years behind the chair there before he ever saw Amsterdam. He opened Porem in 2021, on a corner in the Jordaan, with one chair.
In 2024 he opened a second shop behind Dam Square. Nine barbers work across the two of them now, and between them they cut in nine languages, which in this city turns out to matter.
The work has not changed since that first chair: a cut that suits the head it sits on, a beard trimmed properly, a hot towel and a straight razor when the job calls for it. Both shops are open seven days a week. Walk in, or book ahead if you would rather not wait.

Haircuts at Porem Barbershop start from €30 for a buzzer cut, €34 for just the sides, and €45 for a full haircut. Combo deals with beard trims are available from €54 to €68. All prices include styling.
Porem Barbershop has two locations in Amsterdam: one in the Jordaan at Nieuwe Willemsstraat 14 (corner of Marnixstraat), and a second location near Dam Square at Raadhuisstraat 12. Both are in Amsterdam Centrum, easily accessible by tram, bus, or a short walk from Central Station.
Appointments are recommended to avoid waiting, especially on weekends. You can book online via Fresha 24/7. Walk-ins are also welcome when there is availability.
