The shop
A barbershop in Amsterdam, run by barbers.
Abdel El Bouzidi trained in Casablanca and opened Porem in 2021 on a corner of the Jordaan, at Nieuwe Willemsstraat 14. In 2024 came the second shop on Raadhuisstraat, two minutes behind the Royal Palace. Both are barbershops in the plain sense: chairs, mirrors, regulars the barbers know by name, and at the Dam shop a coffee corner for an espresso while you wait.
The menu is short on purpose. A haircut is €45 and takes 45 minutes: a word about what you want first, scissors or clippers as the head needs, a fade if you are after one, and styling before you leave. A hot towel beard trim is €35, a clean shave €35, and the cut-and-beard combo €68 instead of €80 booked separately. Fifteen treatments in total, every price fixed, a drink with all of them.
