Abdel — Owner & Master Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

OWNER

Abdel

Owner & Master Barber

Abdel El Bouzidi is the owner and founder of Porem Barbershop, bringing his passion for traditional barbering and modern men's grooming to the heart of Amsterdam.

Originally trained in Morocco, Abdel refined his craft in some of Casablanca's respected barbershops before bringing his experience and passion to Amsterdam. With a strong focus on precision, craftsmanship and personal service, he has built Porem into a barber shop where traditional techniques meet a modern, high-end experience.

Since 2024, Abdel has expanded Porem with a second location right in the centre of Amsterdam, just behind Dam Square. Located in one of the city's busiest and most iconic areas, the new location has become a destination for both locals and visitors looking for a quality haircut, beard trim or traditional shave.

Abdel specializes in sharp, stylish haircuts, precise beard trims and traditional hot towel shaves. His approach combines the rich heritage of Moroccan barbering with the precision and standards of contemporary men's grooming.

For Abdel, barbering is more than simply cutting hair. It is about craftsmanship, attention to detail and creating an experience where every client feels welcome and leaves looking their best.

Whether you visit Porem in the heart of Amsterdam or at our other location, you can expect the same passion, quality and personal service that Abdel has built the brand around.

Ozzy — Manager at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

MANAGER

Ozzy

Manager

Ozzy trained at The Barber School here in Amsterdam and has spent ten years behind the chair since. For him each haircut is more than a service — it's an expression of the client's personality.

His route in was an unusual one: he started out designing wigs for The Dutch National Opera and The Dutch National Ballet, under the mentorship of Bianca Van Zwieten, the Netherlands Hair Stylist of the Year in 2019 and 2020. He has also worked Amsterdam Fashion Week, which is where he sharpened his eye for creative cuts.

Today his work is built on scissor craft, precision cuts and modern shapes. He speaks English, Dutch and German. Away from the shop he is an adventurous, culture-hungry traveller and a serious bookworm.

Warren — Manager at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

MANAGER

Warren

Manager

Warren has been barbering for fourteen years, across a handful of countries around Europe, picking up techniques everywhere he worked before landing at Porem — where he now heads up the team.

His favourite work is done with scissors: natural, flowy shapes that work with how the hair falls rather than against it. He cuts in English, Irish and French, plus a little Dutch.

Outside the shop he spends most of his time reading sci-fi and collecting Hot Wheels.

Gian — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Gian

Barber

Gian was born in the Netherlands and trained here in Amsterdam: two years at the Nederlandse Kappers Akademie, then a course at the Barbers school.

He spent two years at an all-round hairdressers in Monnickendam before joining Porem, where he has now been for more than three and a half years.

He is at his best on fades — mullets and tapers especially — though the hair type makes no difference to him. He cuts in Dutch and English. Outside the shop it's beers with the football or Formula 1 on, festivals, and house music, which he plays at home himself like a DJ.

Camilo — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Camilo

Barber

Camilo started out at the Antonio Eloy barber school in Malaga, and has spent eight years behind the chair since — Malaga, Athens, and now Amsterdam.

He'll take on any kind of haircut, but he is happiest working with scissors on natural looks: shapes that suit the hair and grow out well. He works in Spanish, Greek and English.

Outside the shop it's sports, music and motorbikes — anything that burns gasoline.

Stavros — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Stavros

Barber

Stavros learned to cut hair at IEK AKMI in Athens, then sharpened it across barbershops and salons in Athens and London, with a run of professional seminars along the way.

Fourteen years in, he started out at Leo Bazimas Hair Salon and 1900 The Barber Shop in Kolonaki, spent time at Sina Barbershop in London, and then moved to Amsterdam to join Porem.

He specialises in skin fades, classic and modern men's cuts, beard trimming, line-ups and traditional face and head shaves — a background in both hairdressing and barbering that lets him work confidently with any hair type. He cuts in English and Greek. Outside the shop he plays football, travels, and is always after new places and fresh inspiration.

Gennaro — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Gennaro

Barber

Gennaro learned barbering in Naples, his hometown, at Haircut Andrea — then spent years in Amsterdam perfecting it.

Sixteen years in, he started his career in Italy before moving here, first at Calvetti Bulldog Barbershop and then at Kapp Salone Salvatore. For the past two and a half years he has been at Porem as a freelance barber.

He is confident with fades, beard grooming, curly hair, scissor work and classic cuts, and comfortable moving between styles — the aim is always the cut that suits the person in the chair, whatever they walk in asking for. He speaks Italian, English, Spanish and a little Dutch with his clients. Away from work it's family, friends, travelling and meeting new people.

Axel — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Axel

Barber

Axel started cutting in Zaragoza, Spain, at La Escuela del Tío Jorge. It's an old-school foundation, and it still shows: precision, clean execution, and technique he keeps refining through continued training.

He has been barbering since 2021 — trained and worked in Zaragoza, refined in the Netherlands, now at Porem. Built on traditional barbering, classic cuts and beard craftsmanship, he has developed a versatile approach that moves from timeless styles to more creative looks. A strong grasp of structure and how hair actually behaves lets him adapt across styles while keeping control and precision in every cut.

He works in Spanish and English, and focuses on the shape, the hair and the person behind every service — a result that is personal and built to last. Outside the shop he is driven by curiosity, finding inspiration in the places, experiences and people that shaped him.

Adonis — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Adonis

Barber

Adonis trained in Crete, at the IEK MORFI KEPANSI hairdressing school in Heraklion — two years that started him off back in 2018.

From there he worked at Kaizen™ and then Mora Theory, both in Heraklion, spent a year at The Original Barbershop in Chania, and finished the 2025 summer season at G Vak in Mykonos before coming to Porem.

He cuts every hair type, curly or straight, and loves fading as much as he loves working with scissors. He speaks English and Greek. On his days off it's football, the gym or a run — he's into every kind of sport. The best part of the job, for him, is meeting new people every day: not just clients, but friends.

Sotos — Barber at Porem Barbershop Amsterdam

BARBER

Sotos

Barber

Sotos started cutting at fourteen, learning from his mother and working the rest out for himself. At eighteen he went to barber school, and he has kept adding to it since — seminars, year after year.

Sixteen years on, most of them at Hairmides coiffure, the family business, before he came to Porem.

He is at his best on fades, beard work, scissor cuts and classic haircuts. He cuts in English and Greek. Outside the shop it's football and good food.
