How Much Does a Haircut Cost in Amsterdam? We Checked 69 Barbershops
The Short Answer
A standard men's haircut in Amsterdam costs €40. That is the median price across the 69 barbershops we checked in October 2026, and half of them charge between €30 and €45.

How We Checked
On 8 October 2026 we went through the public booking pages of every Amsterdam barbershop listed on Fresha and Treatwell, the two platforms most barbers in the city use for online booking. For each shop we wrote down the price of a standard men's haircut: the cheapest regular adult cut, leaving out buzz cuts, student, senior and kids' prices, and combos. A shop listed on both platforms counts once. That left 69 barbershops with a published haircut price. We did the same for Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.
What it doesn't cover: barbershops that take no bookings on either platform, and offers that only exist in the shop.
The Closer to Dam Square, the Higher the Price

The service is the same; the address is what changes. Within a kilometre of Dam Square the median haircut costs €12.50 more than 2.5 km or further out.

The cheapest haircut we found was €15 and the most expensive €59.90.
Amsterdam vs Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht

Amsterdam is the most expensive of the four: a haircut costs €5 more than in The Hague and €7.50 more than in Rotterdam. Fewer Utrecht barbershops book through these two platforms, so read that number with more caution.

A combo saves about €10
Booking a haircut and a beard trim together costs a median €10 less than booking them separately.
A crossed-out price isn't always a discount
On Treatwell, 23 of the 63 adult men's haircut prices in Amsterdam show a crossed-out price next to a lower one. In at least one case the lower price was exactly what the same shop charges on its own booking page, so the crossed-out number was never the real price. Compare before you count it as a deal.
